Stevie Ray Vaughan: Six Strings Down, The Day the Music Died.

I woke up this morning and read an article about Stevie Ray Vaughan, and how today was the 20th. anniversary of his death. Today is a day that musicians, especially blues musicians sadly remember the news about Stevie Ray Vaughan.

I picked up my Telecaster and played an instrumental version of “Six Strings Down”, it was my tribute and honor to a man who made me switch from a rock guitarist to a blues guitarist. A tribute to a man who made a huge impact on blues music, inspired many guitarists such as myself.

Whiskey is in my glass, and my hand is raised in a toast to Stevie Ray Vaughan.

R.I.P. Stevie, your music lives on always.

Blues Guitar Lesson from Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan, is my all time favorite blues guitarist. Stevie was unique, expressive and a very confident player, which is noticeable when you watch him play. Definitely hypnotizing to watch. Below is a lesson from Stevie Ray Vaughn, playing his award winning blues instrumental "Rude Mood"

If you are just discovering the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan, I highly recommend getting his greatest hits CD. Amazon always has great deals on new and used CD's.

Another great clip to watch or listen to is "Texas Flood", which has some of the most amazing guitar playing I have ever seen. I will post a complete Bio on Stevie Ray Vaughn shortly, check back shortly.
